Fenerbahçe legend Ümit Özat believes several European giants would be willing to sign Victor Osimhen if the Galatasaray striker accepts a lower salary.
The Nigeria international has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs following his impressive performances in Turkey.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a permanent transfer from Napoli last year after an outstanding loan spell.
His performances have continued to attract attention of top clubs in Europe’s top five leagues.
Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs interested.
However, Özat believes the striker’s salary demands could determine whether a move to another European giant becomes possible.
Speaking about Osimhen, the former Fenerbahçe defender suggested that several leading clubs would be prepared to sign him if he agreed to earn €10 million per year.
“If Osimhen said: I’m willing to play for 10 million euros a year, would Real take Osimhen today? Real would take him,” Özat said.
“Barcelona would take him. All six of England’s big six would take him.
“Atletico Madrid and the like would be too small for Osimhen.”
Özat’s comments underline the high regard in which he holds the Nigerian striker.
Osimhen has established himself as one of the most sought-after forwards in European football thanks to his qualities.
His reputation has also grown through his performances for Galatasaray and the Nigerian national team.
Real Madrid have been linked with the striker as they consider their long-term attacking options, while Premier League clubs could also enter the race if the right opportunity emerges.
For now, Osimhen remains a Galatasaray player, and no agreement with another club has been announced.
Özat’s assessment suggests that his salary could be a major factor in determining whether Europe’s biggest clubs make a serious move for his signature.
