Peseiro Reveals Who To Blame For Uzoho’s Mistake Against Saudi Arabia

The Super Eagles of Nigeria continued their winless run in international friendlies as they played out a 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao in Portugal on Friday night.
An own goal from Abdulelah Al-Amri and Kelechi Iheanacho’s stunning strike in the second half couldn’t give the Super Eagles the win, as Salman Al-Faraj and Mohammed Kanno found the back of the net to give the Green Falcons the deserved draw.
One of the major highlights of the game was Francis Uzoho’s blunder which led to the first goal of the game.
The former Deportivo goalkeeper fumbled Salman’s freekick and was criticised by Nigerians on social media.
After the game, Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro revealed who should be blamed for the Omonia Nicosia shot-stopper’s mistake in the game, according to a report by Complete Sports.
“I like all my players, when they make a mistake, I take responsibility for it. I don’t why in Nigeria they criticise the goalkeepers so much,” he said.
“When I arrived, there was much talk about the goalkeepers, a lot of people wanted me to change the goalkeepers.
“I spoke with all the goalkeepers, none of them feel comfortable because the fans always attack them. So, If they make a mistake it is my responsibility. I will take the blame for it.”
