Peseiro Reveals Why He Substituted Osimhen Early Against Saudi Arabia

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was substituted early in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao in Portugal on Friday night.

The Napoli striker was substituted in the 59th minute due to injury concerns. He was replaced with OGC Nice star Terem Moffi.

After the game, Jose Peseiro explained to the media why he replaced the Napoli striker very early in the game.

“Victor [Osimhen] has gone to the room now, for an MRI [scan] to check the situation. We have good coordination and communication with the clubs,” the Portuguese manager said.

“I don’t know if you know, but we send reports to the clubs at the end of each match.

“We have connections with the physiotherapists and the coach, all of them.”

The former Lille striker might not feature in Nigeria’s next international friendly game against Mozambique at the same stadium.
