Man Utd set to sign Mount after reaching agreement with Chelsea

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Chelsea to buy Mason Mount for £55m. The Red Devils had a third bid worth £55m rejected last week. Sky Sports News reported that the deal includes a potential £5m of add-ons strongly dependent on appearances and success.

The 24-year-old is understood to have agreed a five-year contract, with an option for a further year.

Mount has been given permission to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms, with the clubs set to put the finishing touches to paperwork.

United had warned Chelsea that they would not go above their improved offer of £50m plus £5m and were considering alternatives, with the west London club making a counter-proposal of £58m plus £7m in add-ons. But talks between the clubs appear to have finally yielded a positive conclusion for all parties.

Mason Mount will now link up with his England National teammates Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford.
