Man City Legend Retires From Football

Former Manchester City midfielder and club legend. David Silva has retired from football after suffering a serious knee injury. The 37-year-old spent a decade with City after joining from Valencia in 2010 and won four Premier League titles.

The World Cup winner left the Etihad to join Real Sociedad in 2020, and was about to begin his fourth season with the Spanish side, but after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a pre-season training session has decided to call time on his career.

A World Cup and European Championship winner with Spain, Silva confirmed he was hanging up his boots with a video posted on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

The former Manchester City midfielder confirmed his retirement from the game with an official video released on his social media page.

“Today is a sad day for me,” he said.

“Today it is time to say goodbye to what I have dedicated my whole life to.”
