Arsenal are set to sign Real Madrid midfielder, Martin Ødegaard on a season-long loan.
The Norwegian midfielder requested to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this January after failing to break into Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI this season. The rejuvenation of Luka Modric hindered Ødegaard’s chances mostly this season.
He was poised for a return to Real Sociedad this January but Spanish team don’t have enough funds to bring the Real Madrid star back to the club.
Another reason Ødegaard opted for a move to Arsenal was that Mikel Arteta reached out to him personally. A move that made him believed he is wanted by the Gunners.
Arsenal could confirm the signing Ødegaard in few hours time with both teams already reached an agreement for his loan move to the Emirates.
