Manchester United legend singles out ‘horrible’ game that could cost Arsenal the title

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has highlighted a possible stumbling block in Arsenal’s push for the English Premier League title this season.

The Gunners moved six points clear at the top after a convincing 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday. Viktor Gyökeres opened the scoring at the Emirates Stadium and added a second just before the break, shortly after Bukayo Saka had doubled Arsenal’s advantage.

Although Mikel Arteta’s side couldn’t add to their tally in the second half, the dominant victory still ramped up the pressure on rivals Manchester City.

City, however, have two games in hand and an opportunity to cut the gap, starting with a tricky away clash against Everton. Neville expects Pep Guardiola’s men to secure that result, which would then shift the spotlight onto Arsenal’s upcoming London derby against West Ham United.

Despite sitting 17 places and 40 points above West Ham, Arsenal face a side that has improved recently and is fighting to avoid relegation, making them potentially dangerous opponents.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville suggested Arteta might feel his team missed a chance to boost their goal difference further, stressing the importance of being more clinical in front of goal. He warned that Arsenal cannot afford complacency and must sustain their intensity.

Neville added that while he fully expects City to beat Everton, the real danger for Arsenal lies in their trip to West Ham—a fixture he believes poses their biggest risk of dropping points, given the hosts’ urgency in their relegation battle.
