Osimhen set for Galatasaray return as Barcelona UCL clash looms

Victor Osimhen is expected to return to individual training before the end of this week as he continues his injury recovery.

The Galatasaray striker has been sidelined since suffering the injury during his side’s victory over Istanbul Başakşehir last month.

Osimhen has subsequently missed Galatasaray’s last three matches across all competitions.

The injury also forced the Nigeria international to withdraw from the Super Eagles squad for their matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

However, there is now positive news regarding the striker’s recovery.

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Osimhen’s treatment has progressed well, and he is expected to resume individual training shortly.

The 27-year-old could return to competitive action after the international break.

Osimhen is reportedly expected to be available for Galatasaray’s Turkish Süper Lig meeting with Kasimpasa.

That match could give the striker a chance to regain match fitness before a much bigger European fixture.

Galatasaray are scheduled to face Barcelona at home in the UEFA Champions League, and Osimhen could be in contention to start if he completes his recovery without any setbacks.

His potential return would be a major boost for the Turkish champions.

Osimhen has established himself as one of Galatasaray’s most important attacking players since joining the club.

His pace, movement and goalscoring ability have made him a key part of the team’s attacking plans.

The club will therefore be keen to avoid rushing him back before he is fully ready.

For now, Osimhen’s return to individual training represents an important step in his recovery.

Galatasaray will closely monitor his progress over the coming days before deciding when he can return to full team training.

If everything goes according to plan, the Nigerian forward could make his return against Kasimpasa.

That would give Galatasaray another major attacking option for one of their most difficult fixtures of the campaign.
