Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Enzo Fernández and Marc Cucurella undermined manager Liam Rosenior before his dismissal by Chelsea.
The West London side parted ways with Rosenior earlier on the same day.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Neville remarked that managers are often the first to be blamed, noting that it is far simpler to replace one coach than an entire squad.
He added that, in his view, Cucurella and Fernández—arguably the team’s most seasoned players—had been weakening Rosenior’s position for weeks by openly expressing admiration for Enzo Maresca.
Neville pointed out that such praise did not reflect their performances under Rosenior, although he acknowledged that Maresca is also a capable manager.
