Chelsea are set to face Spanish giants Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano on Tuesday.
Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the Blues will be without one of their key players for the first leg.
The German boss reveals that Mateo Kovacic won’t be available to face his former team in Spain tomorrow due to injury.
Kovacic was not part of the Chelsea team that defeated West Ham United 0-1 in their last Premier League game at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Tuchel confirmed that Kovacic’s absence in the game will be a big loss for his side, with the player also anticipating facing his former teammates.
Chelsea will hope to continue their good run under Tuchel against Los Blancos but will have to that without Kovacic.
The match is scheduled to kick off by 8 pm on Tuesday.
