The draw for the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League league phase took place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, with all the top teams in Europe getting to know their opponents for this season’s tournament.
This season, the tournament will once again follow the ‘Swiss-style’ league format, replacing the traditional group stage that fans had grown familiar with.
This means the competition will once again feature 36 participating teams. The top eight teams from the league phase will automatically advance to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, teams finishing between 9th and 24th place will enter a two-legged play-off round to compete for the remaining spots in the last 16.
