Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed confidence that Neymar is progressing well as preparations build toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking amid ongoing debate about Neymar’s inclusion in the national team, Ancelotti emphasised that the forward’s physical condition will ultimately determine his selection.
The former Real Madrid boss noted that the ex-FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star still has time to prove himself.
“He has about two months to demonstrate that he still possesses the level required for the next World Cup,” Ancelotti said, as reported by GOAL.
“I’m confident he can get back to full fitness. I’ve made it clear before, only players in the top physical shape will be selected.
“Since recovering from his knee injury, Neymar has shown positive signs and is finding the net again. He just needs to maintain that momentum and continue improving his condition. He’s moving in the right direction.”
Now playing for Santos FC, Neymar remains Brazil’s all-time top scorer, with 79 goals and 59 assists from 128 senior international appearances.
