Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has pointed out two key areas the Red Devils need to work on following their heavy 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Premier League derby at the Etihad Stadium saw City dominate, with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland (2) scoring the goals that gave Pep Guardiola’s side a comprehensive victory over Rúben Amorim’s team.
After the match, Fernandes told Sky Sports that Manchester United must focus on both “finding the net and tightening up at the back.”
He said, “We keep creating chances to score, and we are not able to score as much as we want, and we have to be more in control in certain situations.
“We conceded three goals that we could have avoided.”
The Portuguese international is optimistic that Manchester United can bounce back with a stronger performance when they take on Chelsea at home next Saturday in the Premier League.
