The Blaugrana now has three non-EU players in their squad, Arthur Melo, Arturo Vidal and Malcom. Coutinho securing the deal will help Barcelona bridge the LaLiga rule that states that a team can only register three non-EU players.

Barcelona are now free to register all their first team players ahead of their Supercopa de Espana match against Sevilla in Tanguir on Sunday.

The former Liverpool playmaker also switched numbers for the new season as he switched from number 14 jersey to number 7, a number that was kept aside for Antoine Griezmann but failure to secure the services of the Frenchman has given chance for Coutinho to take up the number.
