Every football fan agrees that the English Premier League is the most exciting football competition in the world. Its teams have the best players and coaches who never fail to entertain. Even the smaller clubs are capable of performing at a top level, but most of them lack consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This season, we\u2019ve witnessed some amazing showing from most clubs. As such, the current standings have a few surprises, which happens every year in the Premier League. With that in mind, we\u2019ll reveal and briefly analyze the teams\u2019 positions on the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Top 5 Teams on the Table \u2013 Everything Goes According to the Bookmaker\u2019s Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We start with the top 5 positions on the Premier League table, as they attract the most attention. On the 1st stop, we have the mighty Liverpool with its new manager, Arne Slot. This team has 31 points and is showing some remarkable performances on the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester City is in 2nd place with 23 points and a very bad form. Everything was running smoothly for the Citizens right until the start of November. Since then, they have managed to accumulate three Premier League losses in a row. This made things very difficult as they currently struggle to turn things around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions, we have Chelsea, Arsenal, and Brighton, respectively. All of them have 22 points, but the Blues have the biggest goal difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems like Chelsea has finally found the right approach as it\u2019s much better in comparison to the past two seasons. Arsenal, on the other hand, maintains the high-quality football that we have seen since the appointment of Arteta. However, both squads struggle to win against other top clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we look at the bookmaker\u2019s predictions from before the start of the season, we\u2019ll notice the same 4 teams. Currently, at betFIRST<\/a>, Liverpool has the best odds for winning, followed by Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most surprising team in the standings is Brighton. It\u2019s doing pretty good so far, winning 6 of 12 matches and drawing 4. They even got 3 points against top clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham and one point confronting Arsenal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Teams in the Top Half \u2013 The Battle for Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The English teams positioned from 6th to 10th aren’t far away from the top 5 clubs. Plus, there is a one-point difference between them. In the 6th, 7th, and 8th positions, we have Tottenham<\/a>, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of them currently have 19 points, which makes them only 3 points away from the 5th spot. Tottenham is the closest one to Brighton due to their amazing goal difference. But, they do lack consistency, having won 6, drawn one, and lost 5 matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nottingham Forest is also inconsistent, but most fans expect it from a team that battled relegation last season. As for Aston Villa, they had an incredible start after winning 5 and drawing once in their first 8 matches. But, the Lions\u2019 form dropped as they failed to collect 3 points in their past 4 games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below these three clubs, we have Fulham and Newcastle in the 9th and 10th spots, respectively. Both of them have 18 points and a zero-goal difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newcastle’s first four matches were pretty good. But, the club\u2019s good form didn\u2019t last. Now, the team is fighting to maintain a steady winning stream. Fulham also had a solid start, but the team\u2019s tough schedule did cause some troubles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teams in the Bottom Half \u2013 Who Will Avoid Relegation?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The bottom half of the table is as competitive as ever. We can separate them into two parts for a better analysis. In the first part, we have Brentford, Manchester United, Bournemouth, and West Ham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These teams hold up the positions from 11 to 14 on the Premier League standings. They have 17-15 points, which isn’t too bad as they can still easily catch up to 6th place. But, each of them must do much better on the field. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This goes especially for Manchester United, which is 7 points away from relegation and 15 short from the top of the table. Hopefully, their new manager, Ruben Amorim, can help the club get back to its glorious days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the second part of the table, we have the teams that are already fighting relegation. Among them are Everton, Leicester, Wolves, Ipswich, Crystal Palace, and Southampton. All of these teams rank from 15 to 20 on the Premier League standings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have between 11 and 4 points, with Southampton having the least. The Saints are in serious trouble as they managed to win only one match so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All other clubs are very close to each other, which makes the relegation battle even more exciting. But, the season is long and we might even see some other teams fighting to stay in the Premier League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
