West Brom monitor Ben Gibson

West Bromwich Albion Tony Pulis could move in for the services of Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson after having watched him in action during Boro's 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea. The Riverside outfit will be plying their trade in the Championship next season following a dismal record in the second half of the season which confined them to relegation. A report from The Mirror suggests that the Baggies could propose a summer deal for the 24-year-old with Pulis having monitored his performance. Gibson has attracted interest from a line of top English clubs during the ongoing campaign, but Pulis will nevertheless be hopeful of luring the defender to the Hawthorns this summer.

Veteran defender Gareth McAuley inked a one-year extension earlier in the season, and this might be his last in the English top flight as the Baggies look to a younger bunch of players. Jonny Evans has also been a consistent member at the heart of the Baggies defence but his future could be uncertain beyond the summer with former admirers Arsenal mulling over a fresh approach. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough are likely to listen to offers for their standing captain this summer following a top season which has earned him an England call-up.
