Valencia seek tenth coach in four years

When Unai Emery departed Valencia before the 2012/13 season, few imagined that the LaLiga side would fall into such a tailspin.
As it is, Pako Ayestaran's sacking has led to the club looking for their tenth coach in four years, ironically on the night before their first post-Emery selection, Mauricio Pellegrino, brings his Alaves side to the Estadio Mestalla.
Only lasting until December, the former centre-back was moved on for Ernesto Valverde which saw a brief period of stability until the Caceres-native left for Athletic Club the following summer having missed out on the Champions League.
Miroslav Djukic was then employed but once more the Che coach wouldn't make it to the new year, Juan Antonio Pizzi taking charge until the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
Following Pizzi's exit, Nuno Espirito Santo arrived to become the first man since Emery to helm a full season in Valencia, returning the club to the Champions League and yet resigning in November of 2015 having won 32 of his 63 games.
Things only got worse from there on in, Voro Gonzalez helming a couple of games as caretaker before Gary Neville's ill-fated spell was terminated in March of this year.
That left Ayestaran with a summer of upheaval to deal with, but four straight defeats to open the 2016/17 season signalled the death knell in coach number nine's tenure since the successful watch of Emery, and now Los Che must look elsewhere.
