Top 5 managers that can replace Sarri at Chelsea– Mourinho and a Nigerian among favourites

1 month from now  Raphael   Sport News

Maurizio Sarri has agreed a three-year deal to join Serie A giants Juventus from Chelsea and will earn £11 million per-year before tax, according to reports. The 60-year-old, who made his debut in the English premier league at the just concluded season finished third but went on to help the London club lift the Europa League title where they hammered Arsenal 4-1 in the final.
Interestingly, he moved back to Italy, just a year after leaving Napoli for Stamford Bridge after the Bianconeri parted ways with Massimiliano Allegri who enjoyed five trophy-laden seasons.
His cause has been helped after he led Chelsea to win the Europa League title which they previously won in the 2012-13 season under the tutelage of Rafa Benitez. Amazingly, it was Sarri’s first managerial title ever and it was made even sweeter as he lost the Caraboa cup final against Manchester City, few weeks before the Europa League final.
Sarri had a wonderful record during his time at Napoli and played a fluid attacking brand of football but had no title to show for it.
In this article, we take a look at five managers who can potentially replace Sarri at Chelsea if he finally decides to move back to Italy.
5. Frank Lampard (England): Current Derby County manager is one of the coaches who have linked to the job recently due to the wonderful job he did with the Rams last season.
The Chelsea led the Rams to Championship playoffs finals but lost to Aston Villa failing to gain promotion in his first season as a top manager of the club. He took the playoffs by storm after his team came back from a 2-1 home loss against Leeds United to a 4-2 away win to make it to the finals.
Even with that, Lampard's great works at Derby didn't go unnoticed by Chelsea after what he did against the so-called big guns in cup games.
On 25 September, in just his 12th game as a manager, Lampard's Derby County knocked Premier League club Manchester United who was coached by his former manager in Chelsea Jose Mourinho out of the EFL Cup on penalties, following a 2–2 draw at Old Trafford.
In his overall 57 games with the Rams, he won 24 games, drew 17 and lost 16. Most Chelsea fans want the legend back at the club after noticing his wondrous work in the Championship.
4. Rafa Benitez (Spain): The current Newcastle United manager was once an interim coach at Chelsea with the fans protesting against him being given the job on a full-time basis even after winning the Europa league in 2013.
The Spaniard is one of the finest coaches in Europe not forgetting his wonderful times at Valencia where he won two Laligas, and the UEFA Cup. Also with Liverpool winning the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Benitez is one the managers who can perfectly fit in Sarri's place due to his handful experience in the Premier League.
3. Massimiliano Allegri (Italy): Allegri is currently clubless after taking a decision to leave the Old Ladys at the end of last season. He won the Scudetto five seasons in a row but failed to win the all-important Champions League trophy with the Bianconeri.
Allegri is a coach who is very good at winning league titles as he did the same during his time with Milan. Chelsea currently want the Premier League title back after winning it last under Allegri's countryman Antonio Conte in 2017.
2. Jose Mourinho (Portugal): One of the most controversial managers in world football today and not taking anything away from his brilliance he is also one of the most successful coaches in the history of the game.
Chelsea are not new to the return of Jose after doing that in 2013 winning the league a season after. According to stats and figures, Mourinho is known as the most successful coach in Chelsea's history even without winning a single European title with the club.
After he was being sacked by Manchester United, he has been without a club and recent reports claims Roman Abramovich fancy the return of the Portuguese manager.
1. Sunday Oliseh (Nigeria): Popularly known as 'African Guardiola' due to his pattern of coaching relating to Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola. Oliseh is a top manager with few football fans knowing that he poses the same certification just like other managers in Europe. He got certified the same day alongside Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in London.
The former Super Eagles captain was once named Nigeria National team coach which he had a stunning record before resigning from the job due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages and benefits to his players, assistant coaches and himself.
During his time with Dutch side Fortuna Sittard, his team was a force to reckon with as they dominated the second division of the Dutch League at some point earning him praise from his colleagues.
He was sacked by the club on the 14th of February 2018 despite having a good season with the Dutch club, and claimed the reason he was fired was because he refused to participate in illegal activities at the club.
His pattern is close to Sarri's free-flowing football which Chelsea fans were pleased to see when the Italian manager first arrived at the club. The former Super Eagles coach is currently without a club and he can be the first Nigerian to manage an English Premier League side if considered for the job.
