Alaves played their final home match of the 2016/17 season on Sunday, winning 3-1 against Celta Vigo, and Theo Hernandez afterwards thanked the Basque fanbase for their support throughout the year.

His loan from Atletico Madrid is set to expire following their Copa del Rey final against Barcelona at the end of the month, after which a cross-capital move to Real Madrid beckons.

"It has been a pleasure to play in your great stadium and in front of this wonderful fanbase," the 19-year-old wrote on Twitter along with a picture of him and his teammates at the Estadio Mendizorroza.

"Thank you for the support throughout the whole season, you're great."

The left-back almost signed off his time in Vitoria-Gasteiz with a free-kick goal, but Celta Vigo Ivan Villar was able to save the attempt.
