Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has been left out of the squad for Thursday's Europa League quarter-final first leg at Anderlecht. The 31-year-old England striker trained with his team-mates on Wednesday morning but has not travelled to Belgium. Rooney has missed United's past two matches due to pain in both ankles.
Anderlecht's top scorer Lukasz Teodorczyk is a doubt as the striker is suffering from a shoulder problem. The 25-year-old Poland international has scored 20 league goals this season and five in the Europa League. Anderlecht coach Rene Weiler said Teodorczyk will not make the starting XI but could be included on the bench.
