According to reports in The London Economic, Arsenal are closing in on the double capture of William Saliba from Saint Etienne and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos who is currently in London for medicals. The Unai Emery led team might announce their new signing later in the day after the team returned from their pre-season tour in United States of America to England early hours of Wednesday morning.
Real Madrid midfielder, Ceballos is due to sign on a season-long loan agreement with the Gunners, although Emery had suggested the cruciate knee injury suffered by Marco Asensio in a friendly win over the Gunners on Wdnesday could have scuppered the deal. The 22-year-old midfielder is highly-regarded at the Santiago Bernabeu and helped the Spain Under-21 side to the Euro 2019 title earlier in the summer.
Another player who could join Arsenal is 18-year-old defender Saliba, he is expected to join from Ligue 1 side St Etienne but will return to the club on loan for the 2019/20 campaign. With two bids for Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney turned down and a move for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha seemingly dead in the water, Arsenal fans will be pleased to see further arrivals with teenage striker Gabriel Martinelli the only summer addition thus far.
