Real Madrid star's chances of staying at the club increases after Asensio's injury

3 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

James Rodriguez could end up staying at Real Madrid to fill in the gap created following Marco Asensio's injury. The Spaniard will be sidelined for between six and eight months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament and the external meniscus of his left knee against Arsenal.
Zinedine Zidane was counting on Asensio to be a starter on the right wing, a position in which James can fit perfectly. Another player who could step up is Brahim Diaz as the French coach is fond of his skills, while Gareth Bale who could also play there isn't in Zidane's plans for next season.
Madrid may reconsider Lucas Vazquez's departure, given Vinicius Jr performs better on the left flank and Rodrygo is not eligible as all three non-EU spots are covered.
James, however, has recently gained Spanish citizenship and whether he stays or not depends exclusively on sporting criteria.
