European giants Real Madrid have signed yet another young Brazilian which the fans are excited about after enjoying Vinicius Junior last season. Rodrygo Goes was being presented at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday. The 18-year-old spoke with confidence in his first press conference at the club, addressing a number of topics from his style to Vinicius to Barcelona top target Neymar.
He was asked about Barcelona's top transfer target Neymar specifically and if he wants to be "the Neymar of Real Madrid". It came as a surprise that the Real Madrid new boy said that he didn't come to  Santiago Bernabeu to stand in for the Brazil International and also claining he is a great player.
"There's only one Neymar, I want to be the Rodrygo of Real Madrid," he said. "Neymar is a great player. "He is at another club, though, so I can't speak much about him.
"I'm excited to train with the player we have here, like Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema. "It'll be exciting to train with Vinicius again. "We're two young Brazilian players with similar characteristics, although there's no need to make comparisons."
Asked exactly what kind of player he is, the teenager described himself:  "I'm a quick forward who likes to score goals and to dribble," he said. "Many Brazilians have these characteristics. "I identify with players such as Robinho and Neymar.
In his speech, he also revealed his idols while growing up in Brazil and they happened to be Real Madrid legends:  "Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos were idols of mine when I was younger."
The player revealed that he hasn't yet spoken to Zinedine Zidane, but that he is ready to perform in whatever role is asked of him.
"I've not spoken with Zidane yet, but I'm excited for him to coach me," he said. "There is pressure here because this is the biggest club in the world. "Vinicius has told me about his experiences and everyone has been telling me that I'm young and need to have patience. "Real Madrid will always have the best players and I'll have a lot of competition. "I'll leave the matter of whether or not I play for the first team or for Castilla up to the club."
Rodrygo also discussed how much he loves Real Madrid and his lifelong admiration for the institution.
"This is a dream come true for me, the kind of dream all kids have," he said. "I think everyone who knew me as a kid saw me always support Real Madrid and say that one day I'd play here. "I always told me family and representatives that I wanted to play for Real Madrid and the deal was closed in just 20 minutes."
Before the player went out to meet the fans, Florentino Perez spoke of the need to acquire young prospects.
"We're signing special talent to face up to new challenges in these highly competitive times," Perez started. "We must go into this new era by remaining loyal to the philosophy that has made us the most decorated club. "There's a need to sign young players who can define a new era at Real Madrid and this player has been dreaming of this moment, ever since he started to grow as a player."
Perez then turned to the forward and addressed him directly: "You are one of the emerging stars of Brazil and scored 17 goals with Santos," the president said. "Your growth has been spectacular and you're arriving at a club you love and to a stadium where the fans will support you as you aim to make history here."
"Your parents know what you've had to go through to get to this point. "Welcome to your new home, welcome to Real Madrid."
Rodrygo also said a few words, before taking to the pitch and before a more in-depth press conference.
"I thank God for all he has done for me, and also my family and the president for trusting in my work," the youngster said as he took to the podium. "I hope to bring a lot of happiness.
"Hala Madrid!"
