Real Madrid and UEFA come face to face

7 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez met late on Wednesday in Madrid, his first visit to the Spanish capital as president.
In the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, there is concern regarding the potential of a European Super League and Ceferin wanted to hear first-hand about the concerns that Perez has about the existing format.
Real Madrid also wanted Pedro Lopez Jimenez and Emilio Butragueno as a visible head of the entity to be present alongside UEFA and the ECA (European Club Association), the first executive level and the second at a representative level.
While Michel Platini was UEFA president, the relationship with Real Madrid had its ups and downs but Ceferin is aware of the significance Los Blancos have in European football and the Slovenian is fully aware of what a European Super League poses.
Ceferin not only visited Real Madrid, but he was also in Barcelona as he met Josep Maria Bartomeu.
In his first visit to Barcelona since being elected as president of UEFA, he was accompanied by the general secretary, Theodore Theodoridis, and the deputy general secretary, Giorgio Marchetti.
The visit coincides precisely with the agreement between Barcelona and UEFA regarding the Estelades controversy.
