Ahead of El Clasico on December 23, Barcelona are gradually recovering their absent players with Rafinha Alcantara taking part in his first training session on Friday after an eight month absence.
The Brazilian midfielder worked with the senior team and received a warm welcome from his teammates upon his return from a serious knee injury.
Alongside him there were several other returning players as Ousmane Dembele, Javier Mascherano and Andres Iniesta.
The French forward has been out of action for almost the entire season after suffering a rupture of the femoral biceps tendon in his left leg.
Mascherano's return comes at an opportune time for Ernesto Valverde too, as defensive issues were mounting ahead of the trip to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
