Atletico Madrid have announced that members of the current team and a selection of world stars will face a Legends side on May 28, adding another event to the farewell of the Estadio Vicente Calderon, the closing of which will be blessed by Pope Francis at the Vatican on Friday.
President Enrique Cerezo was among a host of attendees speaking at an event, in conjunction with ONG Scholas Ocurrentes, about their best memories of the stadium over the past few decades.
It was also revealed that the profits from the Legends game will go to schools in different countries where ONG Scholas operate. Last year they did an event in Rome, this year it will be at the Calderon.
