Platinum Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza insists the club are not prioritising any competition at this stage of the season. Dikwena, who are looking for a top-eight finish in the league after recovering from a poor start, face Ivorian outfit AS Tanda in a CAF Confederation Cup play-off first-leg tie in Abidjan on Sunday (17h00). Cavin Johnson's side are also through to the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals following 1-0 win over Baroka on Tuesday.

Mazingiza told his club's website: “In every match that we play we give more than 100 percent. This thing of prioritising a particular match or competition doesn’t apply to us. We honour fixtures with good displays. We signed players and they are expected to give their best always. Our concern is just the workload and the travelling. It’s a challenge to the technical team to shuffle and manage the players. We have to give credit to the coach and his technical team because they are managing very well.” Mazingiza says the team has embraced their heavy itinerary and is determined to make it to the knockout stages of the Confed Cup.

“We have been on the road since Friday. We left for Johannesburg on Friday to play Bidvest Wits, slept over and left for Polokwane on Sunday. From playing Baroka FC in Polokwane, it was back to Johannesburg and off Abijan via Nairobi. We left South Africa early because of flights availability. If we didn’t get a flight on Wednesday, we might have missed the match. We also wanted to acclimatise and train at the venue before the match. There’s a lot of travelling and costs involved but we signed up for this. It’s great experience and exposure to our team, on and off the pitch.” Mazingiza added: “We are confident that players will give their best. We don’t give up. We go all the way. Who said we can’t go far. We want to go to group stages and knockout stages. We want to make impact. For the coach and players, it’s great experience that they can’t buy. We are excited that we are playing in three competitions. Ours is to continue to support the coach and the players.”
