Napoli add a touch of magic to staple stroll past Udinese

1 month ago  Raphael   Sport News

Few expected Udinese to come away from Napoli with anything on Saturday night and the Partenopei turned on the style to put three past their Serie A counterparts without reply.
Somewhat shaky at home lately, Maurizio Sarri's side had to wait until the 47th minute for Dries Mertens to break free and calmly slot past Orestis Karnezis having been picked out by Jorginho's lovely through ball.
Allan burst into the box after the hour mark to send a bullet-like shot into the bottom corner in typical fashion before Jose Callejon rounded off the scoresheet with a volley that trickled home following a goalmouth scramble.
Roma's draw with Atalanta earlier in the day means that Napoli are two points behind the second-placed side and now comfortably nine clear of Lazio, in fourth. Udinese remain 11th.
