Mourinho: I regret alienating Schweinsteiger

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confessed that he is sorry for the way he treated Bastian Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford.
After arriving last summer, the former Real Madrid coach made a point of singling out the German midfielder for some harsh treatment.
He was removed from the side's pre-season squad, had his dressing room spot cleared out and demoted to training with the reserves, but after impressing Mourinho with his attitude, returned to make sporadic appearances before departing to join Chicago Fire.
"After seeing how he behaved as a professional and a person and how he respected my decisions, yes I regret what happened and it is no problem for me to admit that," Mourinho told reporters.
"I've already told him that too. At the beginning, we had a very big squad but I do feel sorry for some of the things that happened with Bastian."
After the initially rocky start between the pair, the ex-Bayern Munich ace leaves only with Mourinho's best wishes and great praise."I'll miss him because he is a good player and a good guy," Mourinho added.
"He's a great professional too and was a very good influence in training."
