Maritzburg United interim coach Fadlu Davids says his men can not be fooled by Orlando Pirates' lowly log position, insisting the Buccaneers "are a good team with fantastic individual players". Eighth-placed Maritzburg will face the 12th-placed Soweto giants at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday (19h30). Pirates are just five points above bottom-placed Baroka and are without a win in their last 12 leagues games.
Davids, however, is mindful his side are only three points richer than Kjell Jonevret's charges and have played an extra match. "What is important for us is to keep producing good performances, results will take care of themselves,” Davids told his club's website. “They are a good team and have fantastic individual players. I have watched their games since the new coach arrived, they are well structured. We cannot be fooled by their log position. We will give them the respect they deserve."
Davids started his second stint this season as caretaker boss of Maritzburg with a 2-1 win over struggling Ajax Cape Town last weekend. Davids, who was forced to step in with the resignations of Ernst Middendorp in November and Roger de Sa last month, has recorded three victories and three draws in his six matches in charge.
