Lucas Vazquez: I hope James stays

7 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

The Colombian is not playing as much as he would like but Lucas Vazquez wants his colleague, James Rodriguez, to remain at Real Madrid.
A number of teams are allegedly interested in James' services but the winger, speaking at an event in his hometown of Curtis, Galicia, thinks his teammate's purpose might be better served by staying in the Spanish capital.
"He is a very good friend of mine, I am very fond of him and he is a great player. I hope he stays," Lucas said.
Another player that is possibly on his way out of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu is Pepe, the Portuguese's contract ending on June 30, 2017.
With a significant offer from Chinese football awaiting him, Lucas believes that the central defender has earned the right to decide the best move for himself and that everyone should support him.
"Pepe has had an impeccable career at Real Madrid and in football generally, and what he does should be respected," he continued.
The Real squad returned to training on Monday, ready for the second half of the season where some of the biggest titles will be available.
LaLiga has become one of their great goals and with three points advantage over Barcelona, Lucas wants to lift that trophy.
"There are a lot of games left, but we are in a good moment and playing well," he said.
"Hopefully we can continue to get good results and win the league."
