Barcelona v Real Madrid has long been considered the biggest game in club football, and the popularity of El Clasico continues to enthuse a wider audience.
The next edition of this titanic clash on April 23 will be no different as Los Blancos go looking for three points which would conceivably all but secure their first domestic title in five years.
Their opponents can delay any celebrations with a win of their own - something they've managed at Sunday's venue, the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, on two of the last three visits, scoring four goals on each occasion.
It will be Luis Enrique's last El Clasico before he hands the Barcelona coaching reins to someone else, whilst Zinedine Zidane will be looking for his Real side to score for the 55th consecutive game (assuming they've managed at least one against Bayern Munich).
Since January 2016, LaLiga, the organising body for the first and second divisions of Spanish football - LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1 2 3 - have had an official presence in the United States of America.
As we approach this season-defining encounter, LaLiga have chosen their top division's fiercest rivalry to further their presence in the USA and become ever more visible to the soccer-loving American public.
To that end, current Country Manager for LaLiga's US office, and Real Madrid legend, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, will be on hand in New York to host a very special event on behalf of the league.
For the first time ever in the United States, football fans of all ages will be able to gather at 230 Fifth Avenue from 10.00am to 7.00pm local time and enjoy panoramic views of the New York skyline, as well as a rooftop El Clasico experience - for free.
With the game scheduled to kick off at 2.45pm ET and shown live and exclusively by beIN Sports in the region, it allows patrons plenty of time to take advantage of the many other exciting things on offer.
From a rooftop pitch, interactive zone and live entertainment, through to exhibition displays from representatives of both Barcelona and Real Madrid, large screen TV's throughout the 24,000 square foot venue and Spanish cuisine.
Raul will also be joined by other well-known guests for the event, with a stated aim of furthering the LaLiga brand and broadening its appeal.
"With the opening of our LaLiga USA office just over a year ago, it is time for us to officially introduce ourselves to our American fans," Raul said.
"El Clasico provides the perfect moment for us to do this, showcasing the best of what Spanish soccer has to offer while celebrating the incredible fan base that we have in this country, especially here in New York City."
