Huge Blow For Atletico As They Face Barcelona This Weekend

6 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

Injury will keep Diego Godin out of this Saturday's meeting between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, making this the first league match between the two teams that the Uruguayan will miss since his 2010 move to the Spanish capital. The centre-back had played in all 16 of the LaLiga Santander matches between the Rojiblancos and the Blaugrana that he could have.
Despite scoring the famous goal at the Camp Nou in 2014 to earn a 1-1 draw and to win the league title, he has never actually tasted victory against the Catalan club in the league. To date, his record stands at 12 losses and four draws.
With many of the rojiblancos centre-backs either definitely out or struggling for full fitness, this is the last thing that Diego Simeone needed as it was reported that another defender is injured the person of Juanfran Torres.
Savic and Lucas have recovered but to what extent will only be found out on Saturday. In the case of Juanfran, it is a 'myofascial lesion in the internal calf of the leg' that is the problem. As the club always does, they've given no return date and have tweeted that the player's comeback is 'pending evolution of the injury.'
Santiago Arias will therefore occupy the right side against Ernesto Valverde's team. The challenge is important because he will have to stop the attacks down his side from Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba.
