Hector Cuper poised to be the first victim in Russia

2 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

Egypt were eliminated from the world cup after losing their first two games in Group A, which in turn might cost Hector Cuper his job.

The former Valencia coach’s current deal runs through the end of the tournament in Russia, but most newspapers in Egypt are reporting already that it is unlikely the Egyptian FA will renew the Argentine’s deal at the dugout.

If his deal is not renewed that will invariably mean that his last game as Egypt coach will be against Saudi Arabia on Monday. He took up Egypt National team job in 2015 and he has led them to 2017 Africa Nations Cup losing in the finals to Cameroun, also qualified them to their first World Cup after 32 years of wait.

Hector Cuper seemed to expect he'd be leaving the post when he said after losing to Russia that he'd need to speak to the Egyptian FA after the tournament.
