HARRY KANE RETURNS TO TRAINING FROM INJURY

1 month ago  tobi   Sport News

Tottenham striker Harry Kane could start against Watford after recovering from the ankle injury that has ruled him out of the past three games. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris remains a doubt due to illness and deputy Michel Vorm will have a knee injury assessed, so Pau Lopez is on standby for his debut. Watford's Miguel Britos starts a two-match ban, and fellow defenders Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Prodl are injured. Etienne Capoue, Valon Behrami, and Heurelho Gomes are all fitness doubts. In addition, Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri says striker Troy Deeney and midfielders Tom Cleverley and Abdoulaye Doucoure are "very fatigued".

Defender Christian Kabasele is back in contention after two months out with a hip problem, while Tottenham's Victor Wanyama could return from a back injury. "Wednesday night's thrilling finish at Swansea keeps Tottenham in the title race, although Chelsea don't look like a team who are about to throw away a seven-point advantage at this stage of the season. "Mauricio Pochettino's free-scoring side have won 12 of the last 15 games, while making only a small dent in Chelsea's lead, so just have to keep winning and hope for the best. "Meanwhile, Watford have won their last two matches and have the same number of points as at this stage last season, but they haven't got a great record at White Hart Lane. It's 32 years since they last won there in the league."
