Giroud wants contract extension at Chelsea

3 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

World Cup winner Olivier Giroud has dismissed talks of dumping Chelsea for a return to France amid transfer talks linking him to Olympique.

The France international only joined Chelsea in January but has been linked with a move away following Antonio Conte’s dismissal.

According to whoscored, the former Arsenal striker believes he has done enough to earn an extension at the Bridge after winning the FA cup with the club against Manchester United last season.

“No, I am happy here at Chelsea,” he told the London Evening Standard when asked whether he considered Marseille’s offer.

“I just arrived a few months ago and just starting to settle well. I still have one year [of my contract] to go with Chelsea, plus maybe another one. “I’m going to discuss that with the club at the right time. There is no rush.”

Since joining the London outfit in January from Arsenal, the French striker has scored three times from 13 league appearances.
