The Algerian Football Federation has confirmed the appointment of George Leekens as boss of the Algeria senior national team.

Mohammed Raouraoua’s led AFF confirmed the appointment of the Belgian on Thursday, who is expected to lead the north Africans to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, and also hand the country the Fifa World Cup ticket. His first task will see him lead Algeria to Nigeria for November’s World Cup qualifier in Uyo.
Leekens will be recalled led the Greens to the final phase of the 2004 Afcon before leaving by agreement with the Algerian Federation of Football for family reasons.
