Champions League: Good news for Liverpool ahead of their return leg match against Bayern Munich

2 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

With two of their players ruled out for the next game already, the bad news for Bayern Munich again is that their right-back Joshua Kimmich will miss their Champions League return leg fixture next month with Liverpool.
The defender was one booking away from a ban going into the last 16 first-leg and after being shown a yellow card by Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi at Anfield on Tuesday night he will now miss the return the fixture at the Allianz Arena.
The German international was booked in the 27th minute for a challenge on Sadio Mane as the Liverpool attacker looked to break down the left-hand side and the score remained at 0-0.
This is Kimmich's third booking in the competition and that triggers an automatic suspension. The only option Bayern manager Niko Kovac has as a replacement at right-back is 33-year-old Rafinha who has made six appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
