Asensio: I have to thank Zidane for the confidence he has in me

Real Madrid's title charge remains on track after a 4-1 victory over Sevilla with Marco Asensio particularly impressing, and the midfielder was quick to thank coach Zinedine Zidane for the confidence he has in him.

The Frenchman's rotation policy has been well documented this term and Asensio has been afforded chances in the first-team which will undoubtedly aid his development.

"My goal at the beginning of the season was to play as many minutes as possible but I have to thank Zidane for the confidence he has in me, I know he trusts me," he explained.

The suggestion that Los Blancos have a selection of A footballers and B footballers which make up the first-team squad was rebuffed by the Majorca-born forward who believes every individual has been important this term.

"We are all part of a team, we all contribute and we are all important, the season is very long and you cannot do it with just 11 players," he continued.

Real face a dramatic midweek clash with Celta Vigo in the knowledge that a victory will put them back in the driving seat for the title and the importance of the trip is not lost on the former Real Mallorca star.

"We played a great game against Sevilla but there are two matches remaining and we simply have to win on Wednesday because there will not be many other opportunities like this," he concluded.

Keylor Navas: We haven't won anything yet

Los Blancos' Costa Rican stopper had a fairly quiet evening on Sunday with Sevilla offering little in the attacking third, however in an interview with beIN Sports, the former Levante stopper made clear his teammates would not take anything for granted with the club still yet to win either LaLiga or the Champions League.

"We are a calm team and we are on the right track but we can't be satisfied as we haven't won anything yet," he said.

Navas' contribution throughout the season has been notable and the 30-year-old seemed to relish the pressure upon him.

"I'm very relaxed and I always try to enjoy football, I feel very privileged to be in this position and I try to be as professional as possible," he noted.

James Rodriguez seemed to offer the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu an emotional farewell as he was substituted, however the goalkeeper made clear that the speculation was not affecting the Colombian at all.

"I think that he has a contract and he is working in a professional manner, we like him a lot as a teammate because he is a great person, I don't want to see him leave," Navas concluded.
