A weakened Germany announces Confederations Cup squad

Julian Draxler and Shkodran Mustafi are the only 2014 World Cup winners in Joachim Low's Germany call-up for the 2017 Confederations Cup.
The tournament will take place from June 17th to July 2nd in Russia, ahead of the 2018 World Cup in the same nation.
Barcelona's Marc Andre ter Stegen and Manchester City's Leroy Sane were surprise inclusions.

Defenders: Ginter (Dortmund), Henrichs (Leverkusen), Héctor (Colonia), Kimmich (Bayern Múnich), Mustafi (Arsenal), Plattenhardt (Hertha), Süle (Hoffenheim) and Rudiger (Roma)
Midfielders: Brandt (Leverkusen), Emre (Liverpool), Demirbay (Hoffenheim), Demme (RB Leipizig), Goretzka (Schalke 04) and Draxler (PSG).
